Healthy Drinks for Pregnant Women

It seems trivial. However, pregnant women should not take it lightly.
 Drinks can be a problem if you do not carefully chosen. Because, your health and your baby are so "stakes". Hence, carefully before making your choices.

Actually, there are 4 types of drinks are okay for pregnant women. The four types of drinks that are:

  • White water. No matter how much water you drink will not be bad for your health. In fact, water is very healthy for the body, which increase blood flow. So, drink 2 liters of water which is equivalent to 8 glasses daily. 
  • Milk. Mimunan is a source of calcium and vitamin D is best, especially for the fetus requires calcium for bone growth.   • Sport drinks. This drink serves replace electrolytes lost substance when the body is sweating. So, if you are active, sports drinks can indeed be an option. But, if you did not move much, the drink is not necessary. Drinking water will suffice. Remember, the sports drink was not a substitute for water and typically contains preservatives that are less good for health. We recommend that you consult with your doctor.

Too much caffeine contained in coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate, not good for pregnancy. Feared too much caffeine causes miscarriages in the first trimester, or babies born with low weight. That is why, the recommended dose of caffeinated beverages during pregnancy is no more than one cup a day.

Drinks that absolutely should not be consumed during pregnancy is alcohol. In sites mentioned, consume alcohol daily cause potentially fatal. Your risk of having a baby with mental retardation, central nervous system disorders, or born dead! Drinking alcohol occasionally can cause miscarriage and babies born with low weight. So, avoid beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages.

Myth vs. reality

  •  Myth: Do not drink ice water because the baby will be fat later 
  • The reality: The ice water contains no calories or carbohydrates, so do not cause fat. If you drink ice water laced syrup, then you run the risk of obesity and fat babies. Is not it contains sugar syrup? 
  • Myth: Drinking green bean stew so thick baby hair
  • The reality: It's not a myth, because the protein content in green beans is quite high, and proteins necessary for hair growth.
  • Myth: Deliveries can be smoothly when drinking cooking oil
